A staple favourite of Punjabi cuisine, originating from Pakistan, Tandoori Chicken is my favourite too! Traditionally, it is made in a Tandoor, however, here I am making this dish in a microwave oven. Do check it out!
8 chicken pieces
3/4 cup yogurt
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 tsp red chilli powder or as per taste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp salt
Few drops of red food colour
1 tbsp oil
Mixed salad leaves, coriander sprigs, onion rings and lime wedges to garnish
Step 1: Rinse and pat dry the chicken pieces. Make deep slits and place in a dish aside.
Step 2: Mix together the yogurt, garam masala powder, ginger, garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, red food colour, and oil and whisk them together in a bowl.
Step 3: Mix the chicken pieces with this spice mixture, cover and marinate for at least 3 hours. You may also keep it overnight.
Step 4: Transfer the pieces to a microwave-proof dish and bake on Micro High for 20-25 minutes. Keep turning the pieces in between so that they bake evenly on all sides.
Step 5: Remove from the oven and garnish it with salad leaves, coriander, onion rings and lime wedges. Serve with coriander chutney. Enjoy with friends!
